How we review places
In short: we visit every place ourselves, places pay us nothing, and they usually don’t know we’re from Syria Finds. So we write what we actually found.
We visit in person
Every Syria Finds review starts with a real visit: we go, try the place and film it. We never publish a place we haven’t visited.
Unannounced visits
On most visits the place doesn’t know we’re from Syria Finds, so we experience it like any other guest. The exception is when an owner requests a visit through our “List your place” page; then they know we’re coming.
Businesses pay us nothing
Places don’t pay to appear on Syria Finds, and we take no money for a review. That keeps us anonymous and independent until we have a real opinion of the place.
Honest reviews
We write what we found, the good and the not so good. Registering a place doesn’t guarantee it gets published: our editors decide after the visit.
When we re-check a review
Every review shows the date it was published. We re-check a review when a reader or the business asks us to, and add the update date to it. Prices and opening hours can change, so confirm them when you book.
